All-State Band Audition Results
Members of the 2009 All-State Band: Elizabeth Dingman (10) 2nd chair Oboe; and
Kathy Su (12) 1st chair Clarinet (this was Kathy`s second year as first chair All-State!)
These students were named alternates, and were very close to making the band: Joseph Sandt
(12) 2nd alternate Timpani (he was #5 in the state); and Nash Johnson (12) 1st alternate Tenor Sax (he
was #3 in the state).
Please congratulate these students for their success at the Missouri All-State Band Auditions
last Saturday in Columbia. There were over 1,000 students there competing for the 108 positions in the
band.
Box Tops for Education...
Calling
all grocery consumers!! Anyone willing to cut
Box Tops for Education coupons from the groceries they already purchase and bring them to school would be donating at least 10 cents
to the band program for each box top. Monies raised will be used to purchase new
band instruments. Collection boxes will be placed in the band offices at Congress
Middle School and Park Hill High School. A full list of eligible products, as well as other ways of earning money can be found on the
Box Tops for Education website.
