Welcome to Graden's Counseling website. Our
counseling program consists of a variety of services and activities,
including individual and group counseling, parent and teacher
consultations, group guidance, information services, referral assistance
to other programs and services in the community, student testing and a
proactive curriculum. This curriculum is designed to address the needs of all students by helping them gain knowledge of career planning, improving study and basic learning skills and learning more about themselves and others. We believe that implementing this curriculum will benefit our students because it will include and center on all students and their needs, develop decision making skills while increasing knowledge of themselves and others. Our program increases the opportunity for counselor-student interaction. This program benefits our teachers by promoting the counselor as a resource, encouraging positive, supportive working relationships and provides an added member on the team striving to address performance standards. The curriculum that will be covered during the 2005-06 School Year for each grade level is listed to the left. Click on your child's grade level to find out month by month, what we will be discussing in class. The counseling office can also provide you with information about Youth Friends. Youth Friends is a program for all students, grades K-12, within the participating school districts. Volunteers visit schools for one hour each week to have lunch with a student, help with reading or academic tutoring, share an interest or a hobby, or simply listen. |
